Most court operations at the Pasadena Courthouse will be disrupted for a second day on Tuesday as the result of an earlier fire.
That fire broke out Monday morning about 1:20 a.m. on the third floor of the courthouse.
Although one wing of the building at 300 East Walnut Street remains largely unaffected, cases being conducted in the main wing nearer where the fire occurred will shift to other courtrooms or other courthouses today.
Court officials said that criminal cases that involve defendants in custody will be held in downtown Los Angeles and juvenile delinquency cases that involve in-custody youth will be transferred to the Eastlake Courthouse.
Civil and family law matters, in addition to all other criminal and juvenile hearings, will be held in six courtrooms in the west wing of the courthouse.
Cases in Dept. A will be heard in Dept. P; cases in Depts. B, C and D will be heard in Dept. R; cases in Depts. E, F and G will be heard in Dept. O; cases in Depts. H and J will be heard in Dept. N; cases in Depts. K and S will be heard in Dept. L; and cases for non-detained minors scheduled in Depts. 270 and 271 will be heard in Dept. M.
Media reports indicate that traffic court and related issues are being conducted as usual; the clerk’s office is functioning normally as well.
