The Pasadena Elks Lodge #672 once again hosted more than 100 veterans and their caregivers from the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital to a complete Thanksgiving dinner this week.
Officers and members served the veterans a full buffet and the audience was treated to a magic show by Elks member and Magic Castle magician Sisuepahn Phila, aka “Leilani,” Lady of Magic.
One lucky vet won a WWII commemorative quilt made by member and trustee Josie Wilkins. The oldest vet in attendance was Elk member Larry Garland, 97, who served 6-1/2 years in the U.S. Air Corps during WWII. Larry also comes to dinner every Tuesday on meeting night.
