Pasadena firefighters along with a Battalion Chief trainee are starting their sixth day on the firelines in Northern California battling the 62,000 acre Rocky Fire.

The Pasadena Fire Department responded to a mutual aid call for assistance, joining a strike team and rolling north early last Thursday morning.

Pasadena Fire Engine 31, Burbank Fire Engines 11 and 12, Glendale Fire Engines 25 and 26 along with Pasadena Battalion Chief Seaton King were tasked with holding Highway 20 as a fire break.

So far, the fire has destroyed 24 residences and 26 outbuildings and three structures damaged. Latest reports indicate the blaze is only 12% contained.

Over 3,000 personnel are fighting the fire.

There is no word at this time as to when the Pasadena crews and engine are to return home.
