Pasadena Fire Department Recognized by American Heart Association for Heart Care

The Pasadena Fire Department has earned the 2022 Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Plus award from the American Heart Association for its outstanding response system which allows firefighters to provide top level care for patients who experience life threatening heart attacks.

A representative from  American Heart Association joined the City Council’s Public Safety Committee meeting on August 2, to recognize the city’s fire department.

The award recognizes the department for its commitment and success in pre-hospital care by working towards getting the goal of ensuring that every patient suffering from heart attack would receive treatment, that meets nationally accepted standards.

Fire Chief Chad Augustin thanked the City Council, saying the award is achieved through team effort and through its partnership with the City.

“Because of your support, Pasadena Fire receives the highest level of training available and were provided the best equipment possible,” Augustin said as he added that it was through this training and equipment that the department was able to save lives and provide the best care possible to members of the community. 

“Kudos to every member of the department including yourself and your leadership team,” Mayor Victor Gordo told Augustin. 

“Congratulations to the chief of the fire department, you guys are doing an amazing job,” said Councilmember Tyron Hampton. 

The Pasadena Fire Dept. also earned the award in 2021.
