Pasadena firefighters are once again getting into the holiday spirit by collecting toys and sports equipment for underserved children and teens in Southern California.
The Pasadena Fire Department and other fire departments in the region are again joining ABC 7’s Spark of Love toy collection drive, an annual holiday project the network started 26 years ago in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Ventura, and San Bernardino counties.
From now through December 24, all fire stations in Pasadena will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment, gift cards and other items suited for children up to 15 years of age.
The Pasadena firefighters will then distribute these items to about 50 local non-profit organizations which in turn will give them away to underserved children.
Individuals, families and organizations can be part of Spark of Love by collecting the items and dropping them off at any of Pasadena’s fire stations, by donating online, or by placing donation boxes in their offices or businesses.
Families can also encourage their non-profit organizations to submit Toy Application forms, downloadable from www.cityofpasadena.net/fire/spark-of-love-2018-toy-drive, fill them up and submit them to the Pasadena Fire Department as soon as possible.
To take part in the toy collection, you may call Veronica Petty at (626) 744-4112 or email email@example.com.
