Gunfire shattered the glass door of an apartment on Painter Street in Pasadena, as police received reports of a man and a woman grappling over a handgun Tuesday night.

Pasadena Police Lt. Mark Goodman said the incident happened in the 100 block of Painter Street after 9 p.m.

Officers rushed to the area after receiving the report but did not see the man and woman involved.

Goodman said the informant who called police described the man and woman struggling for possession of an undetermined type of handgun when the gun went off.

Investigators found the sliding door of a nearby apartment shattered by a bullet and found a spent bullet casing on the ground.

None among the many people in the building were injured, Goodman said. Police checked hospitals in the area but did not get any report of people injured by gunfire from the area of the incident.
