Altis, a 55+ master-planned community in Beaumont built by Pasadena-based Pardee Homes, has been named Active Adult Community of the Year at The SoCal Awards 2019, presented by the Greater Sales + Marketing Council and Building Industry Association of Southern California.

Altis also took home the Best Community Amenity Feature and the Best Architectural Design honors at the annual event.

Held at The Grove of Anaheim on September 28, the SoCal Awards, regarded as “the oldest and largest sales and marketing awards in the nation,” honored building industry leaders in product design, model complex landscaping, interior merchandising and sales office design as well as many other sales and marketing categories.

“These SoCal Awards are a very special recognition of our efforts to create a thoughtfully designed place that goes above and beyond to deliver both the personalized comfort of home and the strong communal ties of a dynamic lifestyle community,” Mike Taylor, President of Pardee Homes Inland Empire Division, said.

Pardee Homes was founded in 1921 in Pasadena as a residential home building company by George Pardee Sr. Pardee’s sons – George Jr., Hoyt and J. Douglas – later joined him in the Los Angeles housing boom after World War II. They began building in southern Nevada in 1952, selling affordable homes to veterans for $1 down. The homes in this first Las Vegas development were sold out in the opening weekend.

The company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Weyerhaeuser Corporation in 1969, one of five such Weyerhaeuser companies under the Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company (WRECO) division. On July 8, 2014 WRECO merged with TRI Pointe Homes now called the TRI Pointe Group, Inc.

Altis and the other awardees were chosen out of more than 500 entries.

The VuePoint at Altis, which serves as the community’s hub of social activity, was named the Best Community Amenity Feature in the awards.

Altis’ Avid Collection (Plan 1) won for Best Architectural Design of a Detached Home under 2,000 square feet.

Located between Palm Springs and Los Angeles, Altis will ultimately comprise 704 homes across four distinct collections – named Vita, Avid, Mira and Elan – that offer fresh designs, energy-efficient features and open, personalized floor plans, a Pardee Homes statement said.

Pardee Homes headquarters are located at 177 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena. Other offices are located in San Diego, Corona, Valencia, and in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The company is currently developing new housing tracts throughout Southern California, including North County and Santee in San Diego; in the Inland Empire, including Lake Elsinore, French Valley, and Beaumont; in north Los Angeles County in Santa Clarita, and in Southern Nevada including Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, and Summerlin.

In San Diego, Pardee Homes was also selected for the highly coveted Best New Home Builder award by the readers of the San Diego Union-Tribune for 2019. The company has earned the same award for 2015, 2017 and 2018.

“This tremendous accolade was only made possible through the hard work, dedication and innovation of the Pardee Homes team,” Jimmy Ayala, Division President of Pardee Homes San Diego, said. “We’re truly humbled to receive this honor, and we look forward to continuing to prove why we are San Diego’s best.”
