The Pasadena Latino Employees Association, the group that serves as a voice for city employees of Latin American descent, has elected a new PLEA Board of Directors during a meeting on October 26 at El Cholo Café restaurant in Pasadena.
The new Board of Directors who were elected are Robert Monzon, president; Erika Estrada, secretary; and Elijah Diaz, Grace Tellez and Joel Ramos as members.
The Pasadena Latino Employees Association’s primary goals are to improve opportunities for career enhancement, to promote and assist inter-group communication and cooperation, and to remain neutral in the areas of electoral politics and labor-management bargaining.
The term of office of the new board started in July 2017. It will end in June 2018.
New president Robert Monzon said PLEA will work towards providing opportunities for members to gather around social and cultural events this year, which will also involve the local community.
