Pasadena Makes A “Big Bang” in the UK

Hundreds of thousands of people travel to Pasadena, each year from all corners of the globe for the Tournament of Roses Parade, Rose Bowl football game, world-famous architecture and museums, and countless other things to see and do.

And to visit the home city portrayed in the multiple Emmy Award-winning sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.”

In conjunction with the release of the series’ seventh season on DVD, more than 250 Papa John’s pizza restaurants throughout the United Kingdom are giving residents the opportunity to win a week’s stay for two at the Courtyard by Marriot in Pasadena. The special promotion was developed in partnership with the Pasadena Visitors and Convention Bureau, which promotes and markets the city around the world.

“This is fantastic international exposure for Pasadena as a world-wide destination,” said Michael Ross, chief executive officer of the Pasadena Center Operating Company, which includes the Pasadena Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The United Kingdom is one of Pasadena’s top markets for international visitors behind only Canada and China, and we’re excited to have another opportunity to showcase our city to other nations.”
