Pasadena Makes It Through Windy Night Unscathed

Pasadena police and fire spokespersons said Friday morning their departments responded to a number of minor wind-related calls overnight, but “no major incidents.”

Meanwhile two power outages in West Pasadena left 476 residences in the dark. This morning one of those outages remains under repair, still affecting 18 residences. Officials estimated full restoration by about 7 a.m.

Fire Department spokesperson Lisa Derderian cautioned residents to check gates to make sure they are secure and look for tree limbs that may have become loose or fallen.

With high heat this weekend expected, Derderian also reminded citizens to look for pine needles or vegetation that have collected in rain gutters or near homes that could be a fire hazard.
