Pasadena Man Killed in Motorcycle Collision Has Been Identified

police-lightsA man killed when his motorcycle collided with a car on Tuesday, November 7, has been identified as 22-year-old Eduard Arakelyan of Pasadena by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Arakelyan’s motorcycle collided with a car at 12:25 p.m. at Washington Boulevard at North Holliston Avenue.

Police said a 50-year-old Pasadena woman was driving northbound on Holliston Avenue and crossing Washington Boulevard when her 2002 Toyota Camry was broadsided by a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle ridden by Arakelyan.

Arakelyan was ejected as the result of the impact and sustained life-threatening injuries. Pasadena Fire Department spokesperson Lisa Derderian said that paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Pasadena Police Lieutenant Mark Goodman said that the female driver of the Camry was not injured and stayed at the scene, and was cooperative with authorities. She was not arrested.

The collision is being investigated by the Pasadena Police Department’s major accident investigation team. At this point, Goodman said, it is not believed that either drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
