Pasadena Parking Manager Appeals to Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Members for Support

Pasadena’s parking manager called on members of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce to help his office get the word out about the city’s parking ordinance, which prohibits overnight parking on city streets between 2 and 6 a.m.

In a letter to the chamber last April 4, Jon Hamblen said he hopes to enlist the help of business owners who are chamber members in letting people know about the details of the ordinance.

“While we are taking steps to increase signage throughout the City, it would be extremely helpful if you would consider sharing this information with your customers,” Hamblen wrote.

Hamblen said residents or visitors to the city will need to purchase temporary permits if they plan to park overnight on city streets. The permits are available online through www.cityofpasadena.net/transportation/parking-permits, and may also be purchased at kiosks located at the Pasadena Police Department at 207 Garfield Avenue, or at four Pasadena fire stations listed here:

• Fire Station #33, 515 N. Lake Avenue
• Fire Station #34,1360 E. Del Mar Blvd.
• Fire Station #36, 1140 N. Fair Oaks Avenue

“My staff and I are here as resources to you and your customers, and I’d like to help answer questions and solve issues before they become problems,” Hamblen said.

Hamblen added business owners who are willing to display or distribute information about the parking ordinance may request for flyers and other supplies from the city’s Department of Transportation through the parking manager, at email address jhamblen@cityofpasadena.net.
