Police arrested 34 people as the U.S team faced Mexico in the CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer game which Mexico won, 3-2, in extra time at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Saturday.

Sixteen of those arrests were for being drunk in public, six for suspicion of illegal vending, and five for suspicion of ticket scalping.

Two were arrested on suspicion of narcotics-related offenses and resisting arrest or interfering with an officer, and one each for suspicion of vehicle theft, misdemeanor assault and an outstanding warrant, Pasadena Police Lt. Art Chute told City News Service.

Chute said he characterizes the event as “very successful.”

Police put the number of people who watched the game at the Rose Bowl at 93,723, with hundreds tailgating as early as noon. The game started at 6:30 p.m.

The last time the U.S. played Mexico at the Rose Bowl was in 2011 when police recorded 26 arrests most of which were for suspicion of public intoxication. The announced attendance back then was 93,420.
