On March 22 at about 12:00 p.m., the Pasadena Police Department received several calls from witness who reported two Male Black Teenagers breaking into a home in the 1900 block of South Craig Avenue. Officer arrived quickly and observed the front door had been “kicked open.” The officers surrounded the house and used a P.A. system to order the suspects to surrender. The suspect immediately fled the residence in separate directions; however they were quickly arrested without further incident by PPD officers.

On March 25 at about 5:21 a.m., Pasadena Police officers observed a Female White Adult (Pasadena Resident) sitting on the exterior of the Colorado Street Bridge safety fence. The officers approached the subject and convinced her to come back over the safety railing. When the officers talked with the subject, they determined she was upset because a friend had insulted her. She was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.

On March 27 at about 1:44 a.m., Pasadena Police officers were providing extra patrols near Colorado Boulevard and Arroyo Parkway when they observed a fight involving several Male Hispanic Adults. The officers quickly intervened to stop the fight. While the officers were in the process of arresting one of the combatants, a second suspect advanced toward them in an aggressive and threatening manner. He was subsequently taken into custody. Both suspects were later booked at the Pasadena jail.

On March 28 at about 9:09 p.m., a 5.1 earthquake (centered in La Habra) rolled into Pasadena. First responders from police, fire, public works, and water & power departments began surveying the city’s critical infrastructure for damage. The police department followed its normal earthquake protocols, which includes safeguarding key assets to ensure response is not impacted. There were no obvious signs of damage nor did the department’s communication center receive an inordinate number of calls. The earthquake; however, is a great reminder to ensure you and your family are prepared for a major shake. On March 29 at about 1:25 a.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 1800 block of Colorado Boulevard regarding an argument. On arrival, officers talked with the victim who said he knows the suspect (neighbor), who armed himself with a sword. At some point during the incident, the suspect stuck his sword through the front door leading to the victim’s residence. The suspect retreated into his apartment and was later contacted by PPD. The suspect refused to surrender; however, after an extended period, he was taken into custody without further incident.
