Pasadena Police Department Names 2 New Commanders

The Pasadena Police Departments elevated a number of its personnel through promotions over the past several weeks, Chief of Police Phillip L. Sanchez said Sunday.

“There were many qualified candidates and the final selection was difficult,” Sanchez said. “These executives and supervisors join a very progressive and talented group of leaders within the department.”

Sanchez provided the following list:

Promoted to Police Commander: Ed Calatayud and Cheryl Moody;

Promoted to Police Lieutenant: Mark Goodman, Johnny Mercado, Jess Carrillo,

Promoted to Police Sergeant: Alejandro Peinado, Cuong Pham, Carolyn Gordon, Kim Smith, Paul McKinney,

Promoted to Police Corporal: Susan Gomez, David Alba, Carlo Montiglio, Tom Blanchard, Jose Urita, and Edgar Sanchez.

A public promotional ceremony to recognize the personnel’s accomplishments is planned for the near future.
