Pasadena police report officers cited 149 motorists for traffic infractions during a special enforcement operation on Friday, March 29 at multiple locations in the city between 6:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Traffic Section Lieutenant Mark Goodman said 35 citations were issued for speeding, four people were cited for running a red light, and the remaining 110 citations were issued for other dangerous driving, such as right of way violations and failing to stop for posted stop signs.

One motorist was found to be driving with a suspended license, Goodman said.

Officers were on the lookout for “dangerous driving behavior,” including speeding, red light violations, right of way violations, and other violations that can lead to traffic collisions.

Officers conducted enforcement at various locations throughout Pasadena during the program.

“As always, a majority of our enforcement efforts … focused on locations suggested to us by community members,” said Traffic Section Lieutenant Mark Goodman. “Community engagement related to these operations really assist us in working on locations where traffic safety is a concern.”

The goals of this and similar operations are to enhance public safety through enforcement and education.
