Police Warn Residents About Rash of Burglaries

Pasadena Police warned the public of a series of burglaries that have happened between Lake Avenue and Martello Avenue North of Orange Grove Boulevard from August 3 to 16.

Seven burglary cases were reported on Mentor Avenue, North Hill Avenue, Terra Alta Drive, Paloma Street and Loma Vista Street. The burglars took jewelry and miscellaneous electronics from the victims.

Witnesses said the crimes have occurred mostly during the day and early evening hours, while some happened two to three hours after the victims left their residences.

The Department said that two Black men, both between the ages of 20-30, were seen in one occasion. One was 5’8”, thin, wearing a light colored “Harvard” t-shirt, while the other was 5’10, thin, wearing a red t-shirt and olive cargo shorts. On another occasion, a female Hispanic or Armenian in her 20’s with black hair in a ponytail was seen taking a recently delivered package from a front porch. She got into a red 4-door vehicle with black and yellow dealer paper plates, which was driven by a male.

“The suspects are possibly in the area watching and waiting for the victims to leave and then enter the residences,” the Pasadena police said in a statement. “Please lock your doors and windows when not at home.”

The police provided this list of reported crimes:

– Aug. 3 in the 1000 block of Mentor Avenue

– Aug. 7 in the 1200 block of North Hill Avenue

– Aug. 7 in the 1000 block of Terra Alta Drive

– Aug. 10 in the 1600 block of Paloma Street

– Aug. 15 in the 1400 block of Loma Vista Street

– Aug, 16 in the 1600 block of Loma Vista Street

– Aug. 16 in the 1900 block of Loma Vista Street
