Pasadena Public Library Celebrates Kwanzaa Festival

Join Pasadena Public Library for Kwanzaa: A Celebration of Family, Community & Culture on Saturday, December 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at La Pintoresca Branch Library, 1355 N. Raymond Ave.

Kwanzaa is an African-Americans celebration of life introduced by Dr. Maulana Karenga introduced the festival in 1966 to the United States as a ritual to welcome the first harvests to the home. Dr. Karenga created this festival for Afro-Americans as a response to the commercialism of Christmas.

Enjoy music, stories and tasty dishes prepared by members of the Pasadena Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
