Pasadena Resident Catches Burglar

Published on Friday, October 23, 2015 | 11:00 am

A 59-year-old Pasadena resident detained a suspected burglar who was trying to break into his home Thursday morning and turned him over to police.

A report from the San Gabriel Valley Tribune said the incident took place in the 100 block of Grace Terrace past 6:22 a.m.

The Tribune quoted Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman as saying that the unarmed resident was in his kitchen when he heard noise outside the window. When he looked out, he saw someone trying to break in.

Goodman said the resident ordered the suspect to stay put and get down on the ground. The suspect complied and the resident then detained him until police arrived.

Goodman suspects the man, identified as Peter Cosby, a 35-year-old transient, was possibly under the influence of drugs.

He is being held at the Pasadena jail on suspicion of burglary.
