Pasadena Resident Dr. Shika Pappoe Named Southern California Regional Medical Officer for CareMore

Dr. Shika Pappoe to Lead Clinical Operations for CareMore in Whittier

CareMore Health System has named Pasadena resident, Dr. Shika Pappoe as regional medical officer to oversee care delivery in the Whittier region of its Southern California operations. In her role, Dr. Pappoe will be responsible for overall patient care and clinical programs managed out the organization’s care center located in Whittier and Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital (PIH).

CareMore Medicare Advantage plans provide health care for the complex problems of aging with a focus on preventive care. CareMore’s mission is to keep its members active and healthy, and provide personalized and coordinated care when it’s needed the most.

Jain, president of CareMore. “Dr. Pappoe has a distinguished track record of academic and clinical achievement.”

Dr. Pappoe received her medical degree and her bachelor of science in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from the Yale School of Medicine. She holds a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University School of Public Health and is completing her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She trained in internal medicine and nephrology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Pappoe served as an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. She is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.
