Doug Bello, of Pasadena, has been awarded a National Title Professional (NTP) designation from the American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry. Bello joins 46 other industry leaders from around the country who has earned the professional designation.

The designation recognizes land title professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property.*

“I applaud Doug’s dedication and enthusiasm for our industry,” said ALTA President Diane Evans NTP. “His work ethic, proficiency and industry knowledge demonstrate his worthiness of this professional designation. I ask all of Doug’s colleagues in California to follow his lead and begin the process to achieve this prestigious designation.”

Bello has worked in the land title insurance industry for more than 40 years. He is the founder and president of D. Bello Associates, which has served the title industry under Bello’s leadership for over 25 years. Prior to D. Bello Associates, he has had multiple positions within the title industry, most notably as president of Title Records, Inc, the largest title plant in the United States throughout the 1980’s.

Doug’s knowledge of title is unquestioned. He’s consulted for a federal judge on matters of land record organization and traveled to Russia to offer guidance on land reform and privatization as part of the new Perestroika. Doug has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California Santa Barbara, and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Bello is the second NTP designee from California. Alma Rushing of Orange Coast Title Company in Santa Ana received an NTP designation in October 2013.

The designation has several elements, including industry and compliance prerequisites and training requirements. To apply for the NTP designation and for more information, please visit ALTA’s NTP website.

The American Land Title Association, founded in 1907, is the national trade association representing nearly 5,400 title insurance companies, title and settlement agents, independent abstracters, title searchers, and real estate attorneys. With offices throughout the United States, ALTA members conduct title searches, examinations, closings, and issue title insurance that protects real property owners and mortgage lenders against losses from defects in titles.
