The Pasadena Unified School District Board of Education is set Feb. 21 to consider three resolutions: one recognizing the month of March as Women’s History Month, another recognizing it as National Nutrition Month, and another recognizing the 100th birth anniversary of Hall of Fame baseball player Jackie Robinson.

Thursday’s meeting will begin with special recognition of Principals Michael Bell of Focus Point Academy and Brian Stanley of Rose City High School, recipients of the  administrator of the year award from the Association of California School Administrators.

Following dispatch of the resolutions, the board will close the session to consider litigation, employment matters, and internal disciplinary cases.

The board will return to open session to deal with Common Course Sequence for Secondary Science, the Submission of Applications for Low Performing Students Block Grant, the License Agreement with Los Angeles Premier Futbol Club for Use of Real Property, and the election of representatives to the California School Boards Association 2019 Delegate Assembly from Subregion 23-A.

The board will also review materials which relate to a possible bond issuance.

Reports from the finance, facilities, safety and policy committees are scheduled to follow.

The Board of Education meets at the Elbie J. Hickambottom Board Room at PUSD, 351 South Hudson Avenue in Pasadena. The meeting begins at 4 p.m. for ceremonial matters, recesses for a closed session at 4 p.m., and is called to order for public session at 6:30 p.m.
