Akila Gibbs, executive director of the Pasadena Senior Center, announces the appointment of Lisa Manning-Pratt as director of development. She replaces Marie Logan, who retired in fall 2014.

With more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, Manning-Pratt most recently served as director of development and alumnae relations at St. Lucy’s Priory High School in Glendora, her alma mater.

“Lisa has a long and successful track record of developing fundraising strategies and connecting with the community,” said Gibbs. “Her strong understanding of the importance of building relations will be a great asset to the Pasadena Senior Center as we continue to secure the funds to accomplish our mission effectively.”

Manning-Pratt will work with the development and management teams to advance the goal of enriching the lives of seniors and their families through recreational, educational, wellness and social services, and will lead efforts to establish and meet annual fundraising and development goals.

“I am thrilled to join the hard-working, dedicated team of industry experts at the Pasadena Senior Center,” she said. “The team’s long-standing commitment to providing high quality programs and services for seniors has been, and will continue to be, an invaluable service to the community.”

Prior to her work at St. Lucy’s Priory High School, Manning-Pratt was director of events and marketing at the UCLA School Management Program, a nonprofit organization that provided professional development and coaching support for teachers and administrators at K-12 public schools throughout the nation.

Locally she has been an active member of the Linda Vista-Annandale Association since 2005 and currently serves as LVAA’s communications chair and webmaster. She serves on the board of directors for the UCLA Rose Bowl Bruins, a local chapter of the UCLA Alumni Association, and is a member of the Pasadena chapter of the National Charity League.

From 2010 to 2013 she served as chair of the St. Lucy’s Priory High School Consultative Board, spearheading the design and implementation of the inaugural four-year strategic plan. She is a graduate of UCLA, where she received dual bachelor’s degrees in history and political science. She is an alumna of UCLA’s Professional Development Program and the Disney Institute’s Approach to Leadership Excellence Program.
