Members of the Pasadena Society of Artists broke their own record this year by donating more than $900 to purchase art and school supplies for the children at Homes for Hope Foster Care Agency in El Monte.
Pictured are PSA member Alice Dworkin, who purchased all of the materials, and Homes for Hope social worker Robert Chacon, during the presentation at their annual holiday celebration.
“It’s an exciting time when the kids get to line up at the breakfast and choose the supplies they want,” said administrator Tori Mohmand.“All of the kids loved getting their own art supplies especially the teenage boys.”
The Pasadena Society of Artists is an organization of professional artists from Pasadena and nearby communities that has continuously exhibited its members’ artwork for over 90 years. Since its inception in 1925, it has evolved into a varied and vital artistic force that nourishes artistic growth in the contemporary art scene.
The Society’s next meeting is scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday, January 4, 2020, and will be held in the Altadena Public Library’s Community Room, 600 Mariposa St, Altadena. All meetings are open to the public.
