Pasadena Water Savings Report June 1 – August 12

Pasadena’s weekly Water Savings Gauge remained at 24 percent for the second week in a row, based on cumulative data for the period June 1^st to August 12^th gathered by Pasadena Water and Power.

Through the remainder of August, PWP said hot outdoor temperature is expected to prevail, and would continue to impact the water savings percentage for Pasadena. The utility also said the water savings percentage is expected to fluctuate from week to week based on the prevailing temperatures.

Average temperatures in the Pasadena and surrounding cities are usually highest in July and August and start tapering off in late September.

PWP is continuing its campaign to encourage residents to save water and help meet the state’s water conservation goal of 28 percent for Pasadena. Water saving rebates and conservation tips can be found on www.pasadenasaveswater.com.

Residents, visitors and businesses are also advised to report water waste by calling the Pasadena Citizen Service Center at (626) 744-7311, reporting online through www.cityofpasadena.net/csc, or using the City’s free mobile app that can be downloaded from www.cityofpasadena/net/csc/mobile-app.

The water conservation gauge is posted regularly on the city’s website, www.cityofpasadrena.net and can also be seen on KPAS during the Pasadena City Council meetings. In the coming weeks, a visible poster showing the water savings gauge will be seen in the City Hall Rotunda and the City Council chambers, PWP announced.
