Pasadena Woman Arrested After Shooting, Injuring Husband

Pasadena police officers arrested a 55-year-old woman as a suspect in a shooting incident that injured her husband inside their residence Wednesday morning.

Lt. Mark Goodman, Watch Commander, said the officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 8:26 a.m. and went to the scene. Goodman added it was the woman herself who called police to report the incident.

“It happened in the 1600 block of El Sereno Avenue, and the woman arrested was Barbara Williams-Burrell, a Pasadena resident,” Goodman said. “She was arrested without incident for assault with a deadly weapon/attempted homicide, and booked at our city jail.”

The victim suffered a gunshot injury to the neck and was taken to a local hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

Goodman said officers also recovered the firearm used during the incident.
