Pasadenans Join Los Angeles, Sierra Madre Rallies Supporting Trump Impeachment

Dozens of Pasadenans joined two local rallies Tuesday night supporting the impeachment of President Donald Trump. The rallies were among hundreds organized by Move On and Common Cause which were scheduled to occur nationwide in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

The rallies occurred the evening before Wednesday’s expected House of Representatives votes on two articles of impeachment against Trump, alleging obstruction of Congress and abuse of Presidential power.

One rally in Sierra Madre attracted about 400, according to co-host Lauren Pressman.

“We were there to say that Trump must be impeached and removed from office,” Pressman said. “He withheld military aid to Ukraine to coerce Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election and then tried to cover it up. He has abused the office of the Presidency.”

Pressman reported the crowd was peaceful and enthusiastic and that some passersby showed support by honking horns during the “Impeach and Remove/No One is Above the Law” event. The rally was held at Kersting Court in Sierra Madre.

Pressman co-hosted the rally with Karen Rowinsky, both of Sierra Madre.

Pasadenans also attended a large rally filling Grand Park in Los Angeles, where they saw former Rep. Katie Hill and actor Alyssa Milano address the crowd.

Local activist Jennipha Nielsen said she joined about 50 Pasadenans at the Los Angeles rally.

Her sign said “All I Want for Christmas is Impeachment.”

“We’re calling for the Senate to do impeachment and removal,” Nielsen said. “ We want them to vote not as a party, but as U. S. Senate representatives. This is constitutional violation and we have to push them.”
