Pasadena-based Conley Entertainment Group, a subsidiary of Knoxville, Tennessee-based The Conley Company, announced it has appointed long-time horror journalist Sean Decker as the company’s Director of Development.

Decker will assist in steering CEG’s horror-centric genre arm on the heels of the World Premiere of their feature independent horror/thriller “The Basement” last month at Hollywood’s Shriekfest Film Festival.

Decker is a writer at the respected and long-running horror outlet Dread Central and former editor/writer for Universal Studios’ Horror Online, Fangoria Magazine and FEARnet. He brings over 20 years of experience within the horror genre to Conley Entertainment, as well as producing and writing credits.

“I’m beyond humbled and very excited to work with Conley and his team to develop and produce a slate of original, quality horror films,” Decker said of his appointment. “Beginning in 1997 at Horror Online, then with Michael Gingold and Tony Timpone at Fangoria, and later with Steve Barton and the incredible folks at Dread Central, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work in the genre I’ve loved since I was a boy. I look forward to bringing that passion and experience to bear in helping to develop and produce a slate of compelling horror films for CEG.”

“Sean came very highly recommended by high-level industry insiders, and we’re ecstatic that he has agreed to join our team,” Brian Conley, CEG Founder and CEO, said.

Conley Entertainment Group’s first feature film, “A Christmas in New York,” starring Jaime Ray Newman, Jamie Bamber, Christopher Backus, Linda Park, and Tracie Thoms was released worldwide on November 21 by Gravitas and Shoreline Entertainment.

CEG’s second feature film, “The Basement,” co-written and co-directed by Conley and Nathan Ives, is currently touring the film festival circuit, having recently made its world premiere at the Shriekfest Film Festival in Los Angeles. Starring Mischa Barton, Jackson Davis, Cayleb Long and Bailey Anne Borders, the horror film has received multiple nominations and awards, as well as some rave reviews.
