Pasadena’s Public Works Director, Director Finance Out of Jobs

Pasadena Public Works Director Siobhan Foster and Pasadena Director of Finance Andrew Green were terminated “without cause” from the City of Pasadena and are no longer employed by the City, a spokesperson said Tuesday afternoon.

The action seems clearly related to the recent discovery of the embezzlement of $6.4 million from a city fund for which three were arrested, however in verbal remarks and in a letter to city employees describing the firings from City Manager Michael J. Beck no reference is made to the scandal.

Both Foster and Green may be entitled to severance pay up of to six months’ earnings, as well as compensation for other legally obligated entitlements and any unpaid salary currently due, City Press Information Officer William Boyer said.

The exact amount each will receive is being calculated and may be released publicly as early as tomorrow, Boyer said.

Assistant City Manager Julie Gutierrez will assume control of both city departments until replacements have been hired.
