STRIDE, an indoor-running fitness concept said Aug. 27, it was launching franchise sale with an eye to opening more than 200 locations nationwide.
STRIDE was founded just two years ago, right here in Pasadena.
Backed by leading boutique fitness curator Xponential Fitness, the STRIDE nodus operandi is the creation of supportive spaces where anybody can be a runner. Its treadmill-based workouts a mix cardiopulmonary exercise and strength intervals on state-of-the-art Woodway Treadmills.
The company statement pitched the concept as “proven” in the Pasadena market with “extensive market and growth potential.”
With the national franchising launch, STRIDE is offering partners the opportunity to capitalize on a brand new fitness franchise in an emerging vertical, the statement said. As part of Xponential Fitness ,and supported by a seasoned corporate team with more than two decades in fitness franchising, STRIDE offers franchisees support, infrastructure and information to help ensure a successful franchise launch.
The investment range to open a STRIDE studio is $233,900 to $493,000, the company said.
“Running is truly for everyone and we are so excited to be able to offer a boutique fitness program that is based on this universal modality,” said STRIDE President Jeff Stokes, “Our certified run coaches, state-of-the-art technology, and various class offerings empower people of all fitness levels to join our pack and we are excited to introduce this concept to new communities across the U.S. this year.”
The concept envisions “levels” for everybody to participate, progress and prosper. With three core class formats and a leveling system that allows clients to enroll as walker or runner, each individual is able to find the workout that best aligns with their fitness abilities and goals.
Katie Ownbey and Misa Dugally founded STRIDE after trying a boutique running workout. Ownbey has a corporate background in business expansion, finance management and contract negotiation. Dugally’s crafts include education, design and retail.
The Pasadena studio is at 906 Granite Drive, and the company is currently developing multiple locations in San Diego, Tustin, Scottsdale and Jacksonville, among other markets.
Following a successful first year in business, Ownbey and Dugally formed a partnership with Xponential Fitness, whose portfolio currently consists of brands in Pilates (Club Pilates), barre (Pure Barre), indoor cycling (CycleBar), indoor rowing (Row House), assisted stretching (StretchLab), yoga (YogaSix), and dance (AKT).
