Pasadena-headquartered Wescom Insurance Services’ non-credit union member insurance services have been acquired by Confie Seguros, a national provider of personal and commercial insurance lines.

A statement by Confie, based in Huntington Beach, said it has acquired 100 percent of Wescom’s non-credit union member insurance customers. Eleven employees that service the non-member book will join Confie, while Wescom will retain all of the credit union member business, the statement said.

Wescom Credit Union’s Senior Vice President of Financial Services Jonathon Allen said Wescom, which has been serving Southern Californians for 85 years, is committed to providing the best financial and insurance solutions to their members.

“We took great care to select a like-minded partner to sell our non-member insurance portfolio to and are confident that Confie will uphold the level of service our non-members have come to know and expect from Wescom Insurance Services,” Allen said.

“Wescom Insurance Services will continue to serve the needs of our members, with no interruption to their policies or service, and this reinforces an even stronger commitment to exceeding our members’ expectations.”

The acquisition of the non-credit union member personal lines also include a new location in Downey and Confie employees stationed in Redlands and Santa Ana locations.

Confie said the acquisition is one of the steps they are taking to further the company’s aggressive growth strategy for 2019.

Wescom Credit Union, established in 1934, now has 23 branches throughout Southern California and provides essential banking solutions to more than 200,000 members.

Like all credit unions, Wescom is a non-profit financial cooperative whose members are the owners. This means any excess earnings benefit each one of the member-owners who get lower loan rates, higher savings yields, reduced fees, and a robust network of branches and ATMs.
