The Pasadena Art Alliance held its annual benefit, SNAP Portrait, on the evening of Saturday, May 6, 2017. This year, the event was held at Eyeboogie Studios, a captivating production space in the vibrant DTLA area.

At the benefit, 24 unique commissioned photographic portraits created in collaboration with advanced photography students at ArtCenter College of Design were revealed for the first time. The benefit also included a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bid on five incredible works of art by renowned artists Todd Gray, Mark Laita, Ed Moses, Catherine Opie, and Julius Shulman.

Since 1955, the Pasadena Art Alliance has awarded $5.6 million in grants, awards and exhibition funding to Southern California arts institutions. Their grants foster an appreciation for contemporary visual arts in Southern California by supporting artists, exhibitions, educational programs (college and graduate) and art-oriented, non-profit organizations. The Pasadena Art Alliance Impact Award, given for the first time last year to commemorate their 60th anniversary, complements the grants program by honoring organizations that impact youth through contemporary art. Both programs fill a vital funding need for these institutions.
