McElwee raced 47.31 in the 400 and 21.49 in the 200 at the SoCal Prelims meet held May 2 also at Cerritos.

The freshman McElwee also was a part of the Lancers’ No. 3 seed for the 4×400 relay as the Lancers raced a season-best 3:18.13. Sophomore Vincent Ogbehi, a member of the relay, qualified as the eighth seed in the 400 with a 49.02 mark.

The only other qualifier for the Lancers was from the women’s team in freshman Julia Sambvani, who raced to a No. 7 seed in the 400 hurdles on her top ’15 time of 1:05.37.
