PCC Board to Take Up New Chief's Contract

The Pasadena City College (PCC) Board of Trustees is expected to consider the contract for its new Superintendent/President on Wednesday night.
Dr. Erika Endrijonas was selected in December to lead the Pasadena Area Community College District after two nationwide searches.
As proposed, the contract stipulates an annual salary of $300,000 beginning Jan. 22. The pact terminates on June 30, 2022 and provides for salary increases in 2020 and 2021.
Endrijonas was named the 16th Superintendent/President of PCC to replace Dr. Rajen Vurdien who retired after serving as chief executive since 2015.
She is currently president of Los Angeles Valley College and will assume her position at PCC as soon as an agreement is reached with the board on the contract.
“I am thrilled to join PCC at a time of such impressive growth at the institution,” Endrijonas said in a statement following her selection. “My entire career has been focused on finding new ways to ensure students succeed in their goals – no matter their background or their dreams.”
According to the draft of her contract, Endrijonas will receive $315,000 annually effective July 1, 2020. That figure will increase to $330,000 on July 1, 2021. The board can extend her term by one year after June 30, 2022, pending a satisfactory evaluation.
Wednesday’s Board of Trustees meeting will also receive the fiscal year 2017-2018 audit of the Pasadena City College Foundation, prepared by the Vavrinek, Trine, Day and Co., LLP.
The audit has been reviewed by PCC staff, which issued no significant findings or recommendations. It was sent to the Chancellor for California Community Colleges in December.
As an information item in Wednesday’s agenda, the Board will also receive the outgoing Superintendent/President’s final report, including the state of the college for 2018.
Regular Business Meeting No. 10 begins with a closed session at 6 p.m. and proceeds to the open regular session at 7 p.m. The public meeting will be convened in the Creveling Lounge at PCC, located at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
