Pasadena City College is proud to present a new English as a Second Language (ESL) Student Orientation, on June 18 and 19 at PCC Community Education Center (CEC). Interested students will be able to apply, take placement tests, and register for the program.

“We are very excited to gather our new students together all at once and help them apply, test, and register all in one setting,” ESL Professor and event coordinator Susan Briggs said.

The orientation begins at 9 a.m. After an orientation welcome, students will hear from guest speaker Fatemeh Saeed Zadeh, a former ESL student currently working as a volunteer with the program and in the community.

The event will also introduce new accelerated ESL courses, which will allow students to move through the program at a fast pace, as well as a CEC campus tour for new students.

“Our goal is to help students be more academically prepared to transition to the credit campus or to enter the workforce in a streamlined fashion,” Briggs said.

This event is free and open to the public. The CEC is located at 3035 E. Foothill Blvd. in Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 585-3026.
