Pasadena’s Performances à la Carte held an intimate Rhythm & Brews & BBQ Fundraiser to raise funds to continue its Jazz ‘n Paz bi-annual intimate jazz series of three concerts showcasing some of Los Angeles’ finest jazz musicians.

At Saturday evening’s soiree which took place amongst the giant oak trees in the magically lush garden of a private residence in Pasadena. Over 60 fortunate guests enjoyed an incredible evening of food, friends, fun and fantastic jazz.

The Nick Mancini Organ Trio featuring Mancini on vibes, Ty Bailie on Hammond B3 organ, and Tina Raymond drums performed a set of traditional jazz compositions and several originals from current CD, The Long Game.

Joining the trio for several numbers was the award-winning vocals of jazz and blues legend Barbara Morrison and Carla Jamie Perez closed the concert with her multi-octave vocals and her hilarious and snappy repartee between songs.

Dinner included a sumptuous buffet of BBQ, craft beers, and smores, where guests were able to roast their marshmallows at the firepit.

The evening closed out with everyone singing happy birthday to Barbara Morrison, whose birthday will be in a few days. A fabulous way to launch the next Jazz ‘n Paz series which kicks off on October 6th with G3, Gary Fukushima Trio. Fall Have It All VIP tickets include admission to all upcoming three concerts, a CD release party, the after-concert Holiday Cheer Party and two signed CDs, all for $125. Performances à la Carte is a collaborative arts events producer with a mission to create unique, original live performances utilizing multi-arts genres to showcase the diverse artistic community in the San Gabriel and Crescenta Valley region, and its Jazz ‘n Paz is back with its’ seasonal intimate jazz series of three concerts showcasing some of Los Angeles’ finest jazz musicians.

Taking place on early Sunday evenings, the fall 2019 season series opens October 6 with GF3; November 17, with 2 + 1 Plus Latin featuring Louie Cruz Beltran; and on December 22, Carols of the Belles featuring Barbara Morrison, Jamie Perez, Renee Myara, and Catina DeLuna.

Jazz ‘n Paz takes place at 5:00 p.m. at Pasadena’s Neighborhood UU Church.
