The Pasadena Foothills Association of Realtors Charitable Foundation held its 27th Annual Bingo Night at the War Memorial Building in South Pasadena Friday night.
Bingo Night was started 28 years ago by PFAR’s Charitable Foundation in an effort to raise funds to support local charities and higher education, PFAR President Lisa Diaz said.
“PFAR Charitable Foundation has distributed over one million dollars to local charities and the pursuit of higher education,” Diaz continued. “PFARCF’s contribution to public service is work in which we take tremendous pride.”
“Every year, our volunteers actively support local underserved and disadvantaged populations through financial donations and special events. Our goal is to foster tomorrow’s leaders by providing scholarships to graduating public high school students, to give back to local charities, and to increase public awareness of the positive impact that Realtors are making daily.”
Aside from the scholarship offerings, which the foundation gives out annually to several students, PFAR Charitable Foundation has helped several nonprofit organizations in the Pasadena area, including Door of Hope, the Pasadena Senior Center, Cancer Support Community Pasadena, Casa delas Amigas, Five Acres and Caps Adult Day Care, among others.
The Foundation mainly supports local charities that have low administrative overhead with a focus on disadvantaged and needy populations.
Diaz said the PFAR Charitable foundation has had many years of success with Bingo Night as a community event at a variety of locations.
