A house fire in the 1500 block Old House Road severely damaged a single story home about 9 p.m. Monday night, authorities said.
The residents were away at the time of the blaze, reported Pasadena Fire Dept. spokesperson Lisa Derderian, and “when firefighters made entry dog escaped unharmed.”
Firefighters and weather conditions worked together to prevent the spread of the blaze into a nearby “high hazard” brush zone, Derderian said.
Responding investigators determined the cause of the fire to be “accidental” in nature, authorities said. Damage was estimated at $600,000 to the home itself and $300,000 to its contents.
Arcadia and Los Angeles County fire units assisted with fighting the fire, she said.
