Pasadena Police detectives today released new information related to the 2013 murder of a 35-year-old Monrovia man named Tyrone English.

On Thursday, February 28th, 2013 at approximately 8:42 p.m., Pasadena Police officers responded to the 600 block of N. Mar Vista Avenue regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an unresponsive victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, later identified as English, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

During the initial investigation, Pasadena detectives worked diligently following up on all information provided by witnesses and members of the public. Unfortunately, the information did not lead to the identity of those responsible for the murder.

Recent information has come to light providing Pasadena detectives an opportunity to further this investigation, authorities said Monday.

The new information suggests that English was intentionally targeted by members of the Pasadena Denver Lane Bloods criminal street gang, resulting in his murder.
