Police Arrest Alleged Sexual Predator

Pasadena police, with the help of information provided by the Pasadena City College Police Dept., arrested a 26-year-old man Saturday evening for an attempted rape.

Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson said that late Saturday, PCC police contacted city police with the identity of a suspect they believed looked like the man on the want poster for a sexual attack which occurred last weekend. In that incident, a woman was dragged into bushes but a passerby intervened. The woman was unhurt. Her attacker escaped.

Early Saturday night a Pasadena police sergeant saw the suspect identified by PCC police standing at the intersection of Hill Ave. and Colorado Blvd. near the college campus. The man was arrested without incident.

It is not known if the suspect, described as Hispanic with a full beard and hair pulled back in a pony tail, is a PCC student.

Lt. Clawson said the suspect’s identity is currently being withheld as investigators complete the gathering of evidence. He did say that the victim “positively identified” the suspect.

The suspect was booked into the Pasadena City Jail late Saturday, charged with attempted rape.
