Pasadena officers fanned out across the city in search of high-risk DUI offenders on the morning of Thursday morning.
Four people with outstanding misdemeanor DUI warrants were located and arrested without incident during this program.
“The best bet for anyone with a missed DUI court date is to contact the court on their own and work to set a new appearance date,” said Lt. Mark Goodman. “If you don’t, that warrant is not going to disappear, and unfortunately you could end up in jail.”
Special DUI warrant service operations, along with regularly scheduled high visibility DUI enforcement, such as DUI checkpoints, have a deterrent effect on those who disregard driving safety and abuse alcohol and drugs.
Goodman said the Pasadena Police Department places a high priority on lowering deaths and injury with the goal of removing impaired drivers and heightening awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Funding for the operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
