Police Officers Rescue Man Hanging Himself

[Updated]    Pasadena police officers rescued a 42-year-old Pasadena man who was attempting to hang himself in his garage in the 1000 block of North El Molino Avenue at 4:48 p.m. on Sunday.

“The man was near death,” Sgt. John Mercado said, but officers administered CPR and revived him.

Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly thereafter, Mercado said, and transported the man to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Police were called to the location by a 9-1-1 call, Mercado said.
