A melee erupted on the sidewalk outside Barney’s Beanery in Old Pasadena at 1:23 a.m. Sunday morning after a man escorted out attacked the restaurant’s bouncer and was joined in the assault by two other men, Lt. John Luna said.
Responding officers used pepper spray on the combative trio to break up the fight, he said.
Taken into custody were Gilberto Varagosa, 44, of Pacoima, Victor Rivera, 38, of Sylmar, and Bryan Reyes, 40, whose city of residence is unknown, Luna said.
All three were treated for pepper spray symptoms at the scene by the Pasadena Fire Department. They were booked for misdemeanor battery.
The bouncer, a 26-year-old resident of Pasadena, suffered contusions to his face.
