Police Pursuit Ends in Violent Collision

The pursuit of a workman’s truck which started in Bell Gardens and wound miles northward throughout South Pasadena and finally into Pasadena ended when the suspect’s vehicle T-boned a car at the intersection of West Holly Street and Orange Grove Blvd. about 5:20 p.m. Thursday evening.

The suspect’s vehicle was traveling at least 40 miles per hour when it collided into the driver’s door of the Toyota Rav4.

California Highway Patrol, Bell Gardens and Pasadena police officers took the suspect into custody.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was injured and treated at the scene.

Pasadena Fire Dept. crews working about 15 minutes to extricate the victim, who was transported to a local hospital.

The victim was a woman in her late 30′s, authorities said, who was the only passenger in the car. Firefighters found unoccupied children’s car seats in the back seat.

The woman was said to be in serious condition.
