Professional Child Development Associates (PCDA) held its third annual Rosé Soiree event on August 6, 2017 at the historic Blacker House in Pasadena. Proceeds from the event benefited Professional Child Development Associates (PCDA), which provides therapies and services for children, teens and young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families.

One hundred and fifty guests were feted at the Rosé Soiree Main Event, a wine and gourmet food tasting garden party. Celebrated local chefs and California wineries participated. The event was curated by Chef Claud Beltran.

The evening was held in the garden of the historic Blacker House, the pristinely restored 1907 Greene & Greene Craftsman home of PCDA Board member Dr. Ellen Knell and her husband, Harvey. Following an extensive restoration by the Knells, the home and grounds have been restored to the designs as they were originally conceived, and the house is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Chef Claud Beltran of Bacchus Restaurant and tap + kitchen, both in Pasadena, is a long-time supporter of PCDA, and a believer that local chefs should contribute to their communities. “PCDA makes a difference in our community for so many families who have a child with special needs, and I am proud to support their work with the Rose Soiree event.”

Celebrating its 20th year of service in the greater Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley community, PCDA is a nonprofit clinic providing therapies and services for children with developmental disabilities grounded in the DIR® philosophy. Using this play-based therapeutic approach, PCDA clinicians annually help over 1,000 children, teens and young adults reach developmental milestones, live more fulfilling lives, and enjoy warm and loving relationships. 42% of PCDA’s client families are low income and could not access these essential services for their children without community support.
