The Pasadena Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance for a senior citizen missing since February 7.

The elderly man is Dawud Qayyim Karriem, authorities said, and reported that family members said he has never gone missing before.

Karriem is commonly called “Al” by friends and family.  He is black, stands about 5’7″, and weights approximately 140 pounds.

Karriem has poor eyesight, but otherwise is said to be as healthy and active. He does not own a car but frequently takes walks in Pasadena utilizing a cane. It is unknown what Karriem was wearing at the time he went missing.

His family said it is unusual for him to be away from his home for such a long period of time. Foul play has not been ruled out.

Police said there is concern for Karriem’s welfare.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Karriem’s whereabouts, please contact the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241. Detective Tim Bundy is the lead detective and can be contacted Monday through Thursday at (626) 744-4522.
