Public Meeting Tuesday Night Will Discuss Plan, Schedule for Proposed Transit Operations and Maintenance Facility

The City of Pasadena Department of Public Works is hosting an informational meeting Tuesday night regarding development of the proposed Pasadena Transit Operations and Maintenance Facility at 2180 E. Foothill Boulevard. The current facility located at 303 N. Allen Ave. is leased and the owner is selling the property.

City officials said the facility that will provide support services for the Pasadena Transit system fleet of 30 buses and for the 15-bus strong Pasadena Dial-A-Ride paratransit services.

Constructing the new Transit Operations and Maintenance Facility, the officials said, will enable the City to consolidate its vehicles and operations on one city-owned site, reducing on-street parking impacts within neighborhoods.

Two 3-level structures are proposed on the site: 1) a parking structure with bus fueling, and 2) a Transit Operations and Maintenance Building with 1 wash bay, 4 bus repair bays and other support areas on the rst 2 levels, and Operation offices on the third level.

The potential to accommodate an on-site CNG fueling station may eliminate daily refueling trips to the City Yards in Northwest Pasadena.

The event is planned to run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Garabed & Azadouhie Yegagvian Cultural Hall at St. Gregory Armenian Church, 2215 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91107. Parking is available in the lot on Grand Oaks Ave. (and Colorado Blvd.). Enter the Hall from the parking lot.
