In February, quilters from around the world will flock to Pasadena for QuiltCon’s fifth annual modern quilt show, Feb. 22–25, 2018. QuiltCon is the premier modern quilting event in the world, put on by the Modern Quilt Guild (MQG).

“We’re so happy to be back in Pasadena for our fifth QuiltCon, and even more excited to showcase these amazing quilts at this level,” says Alissa Haight Carlton, executive director of the MQG. “QuiltCon really demonstrates how innovative and design-focused modern quilting has become, and it’s thrilling be able to feature the best in modern quilting on this international stage.”

At QuiltCon, attendees can see over 550 juried quilts from around the world, including juried quilts by MQG members and dozens of special exhibit quilts, including:

• The Quilts of Carolyn Friedlander
• SAQA Presents: Modern Inspirations—Art Quilts from the 1970s Through Today
• The AIDS Memorial Quilt: The Names Project
• The MQG’s 2017 Quilts of the Month

QuiltCon is a four-day quilt show and conference featuring over 100 workshops and lectures from top modern quilting designers and sewists. Prizes will be given to the top three quilts in each of the show’s 12 categories. During the show, participants can attend workshops and lectures given by some of the biggest names in modern quilting. The keynote speaker is Carolyn Friedlander, a modern quilter and fabric designer who has greatly influenced the modern quilting community.

QuiltCon takes place Feb. 22-25, 2018, at the Pasadena Convention Center. Please visit quiltcon.com for more information.
