KABC-TV showed us the extent of the area rainfall Saturday night. More wet weather continues Sunday.

A trough of low pressure looping over the Pacific Ocean has pushed a powerful winter storm to Pasadena and brought snow to the local mountains. The storm will continue Sunday and Monday but is now expected to clear out by Tuesday.

Sunday more showers and thunderstorms are likely and hail is possible. The day will be partly sunny, with a high about the same as Saturday, near 63. Showers and thunderstorms will likely continue throughout much of the night and early Monday morning, under cloudy skies. The temperature will drop to a chilly 45.

The Los Angeles County Dept. of Public Works said that in the Angeles National Forest the Big Pines Highway is partially open, but to expected limited access and expect delays. Chains are required.

Today’s storm will die down Sunday night, just in time for a second front to hit Monday with similar results. Monday sports a 60 percent chance of showers under partly sunny skies. Winds could pick up to 15 miles per hour. The temperature should hit 62, a bit lower than the weekend. Monday night the rain will continue, and the low is expected to be 45.

By Tuesday  the sun should return with a partly sunny 69 degree day, and by Friday the weather is predicted to be sunny with a 79 daytime high.
