Red Flag Warning

Red Flag parking restrictions remain in effect in Pasadena Thursday as critical fire weather conditions continue to plague most of Los Angeles County.

Pasadena Fire Department Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian said Thursday the area was “still red flag and no other changes. We thank the public for their support and patience because parking citations and tows have been nominal.”

The fire department raised the Red Flag Warning in the city Monday at 6 p.m., hours after the National Weather Service declared the Red Flag Warning over much of LA County. The warning effectively restricts parking on streets designated as No Parking areas during Red Flag conditions. The streets are mostly narrow and/or winding roads within Pasadena’s urban-wildland interface areas.

During a Red Flag event, smaller fire vehicles continually patrol these restricted locations until the warning is lifted.

The parking restrictions are enforced to allow for improved Fire Department access and resident evacuation. Derderian said vehicles parked in violation might be subject to being fined and towed.

Red Flag warning sign locations include:

1. Northbound Altadena Dr. Near Veranda Ave.
2. NE Corner Of New York Dr. And Sierra Madre Villa Ave.
3. Northbound Hastings Ranch Dr. South Of Denair St.
